Rosie’s Resources

avatarMeet the Author

“Climbing to the top of the Sun and Moon Pyramids found near Mexico City and built around 100 AD makes one realize that we are here on Earth but for a short time.”

When she is not being inspired by the ages, Mrs. Kasper is inspiring readers and writers. She writes curriculum and assessments for teachers across the world. Her resources can be found on Boom Learning, Teachers Pay Teachers, and Teacher’s Notebook. She taught for 15 years, mostly in 4th grade. During the summers she taught students from a variety of grade levels.

Her third grade teacher, Miss Transue, invited her to read in front of Miss Transue’s college class one summer. Although the book read has faded from memory, Mrs. Kasper identifies that as the moment she knew she wanted to teach children to read.

Nothing brightens her day more than watching children blossom as readers and writers:

“To see the beaming face of a student who has chosen his favorite topic, used his own voice, published and shared writing that he owns from beginning to end is truly inspiring to me. To watch a child’s eyes light up as he reads fascinating facts and understands underlying meaning in his reading motivates me to track down that most beautiful book for his next journey. I love kids, and I will always love teaching! Today, I mentor writing teachers and tutor students with their writing, as well as create amazing resources to make life easier for other teachers.”

Rosie’s Resources include everything a beginning or seasoned teacher needs for direct instruction, from interactive Powerpoints to printables and learning stations to interactive Boom Cards. She has an abundant selection of literary and expository reading materials, as well as poetry materials and classroom management tips.

Rosie’s goal is to make instruction easier for teachers. She considers her Daily Language Spiral Review the centerpiece of her materials. Rosie suggests providing direct instruction with a Daily Language Spiral Review and assign practice of the same objective with Boom Cards or printable task cards.

With Boom Cards teachers get to skip the printing, cutting and laminating and the materials self-grade (providing reinforcement and assessment all at once). Boom Cards can be played on tablets, netbooks, Chromebooks and laptops (apps are available from Apple, Google and Amazon or play at http://boom.cards). Scores are automatically saved for teacher access and student accountability. Kids are engaged and love their practice.

When she is not lighting the fire of learning for students, she spends time with her children and grandchildren in her garden and at church in the Texas Hill Country.
