Introducing Presentation Mode
Educators now have a new way to launch a play experience from the action menu in the Library tab! This new mode allows you to hide cards and review cards with or without randomization. With Presentation Mode, you see what the student sees. Alternatively, you can choose to view Prep Mode, similar to the old Preview, which is ideal for preparing your lessons.
To explore the new options, select the deck that you would like to play. You can either click on it or navigate to Action>Play>Presentation Mode.
Presentation Mode gives you the ability to launch a student play session from a shared computer where the hidden cards will be hidden and the remaining cards will be randomized if the deck options specify to randomize the cards. This is particularly handy for tutors and therapists. Settings can be changed by clicking on Action>Custom Play Settings for the deck in your Library.
As usual, When you are done playing, you can exit out of the Boom Cards player right back into your Library to select another deck. In the future, Premium accounts will have the ability to save play data after playing with Presentation Mode.

In Presentation Mode, you will be able to:
When you are preparing your lesson without a student, please use Prep Mode.
Prep Mode functions like the old Preview, and it allows you to hide cards and review the content of a deck.
Why Is This Changing?
With Presentation Mode, hidden cards will be hidden and the shuffled cards will shuffled.
Presentation Mode also provides the infrastructure needed to deliver reporting data for student plays during therapy or tutoring sessions, where the instructor uses their own account one-on-one with the learner. Soon, you will be able to play Boom Cards alongside a student in Presentation Mode, save the data, and label the data after your session is complete.
This new mode gives Boom the ability to count student plays of a deck (as opposed to teacher previews), which was necessary for the new Boom Passport product for schools and districts. Boom Passport gives schools and districts unlimited access to a catalog of more than 65,000 activities. Boom Publishers are paid based on usage—which is why each and every student play needs to be counted.
