Here is a quick tutorial on finding locally relevant homeschool content on Boom, We will also show you how to follow authors you love.
Searching for State-Related Content
Begin by navigating to the Boom Store and selecting “Decks.” If you live in Florida, for example, simply enter “Florida” in the search bar. This will generate a list of educational decks specifically related to Florida.
Next, refine your search using the filters on the left sidebar. You can narrow the results by selecting the subject area and grade level that best fits your child’s needs. Once you find a deck that interests you, you can add it to your library or wishlist.
Following Local Authors
Finding and following authors who create state-specific content is another excellent way to enhance your homeschool curriculum. To do this, go to the Boom Store and select “Authors” from the search options. Type in your state—again, using “Florida” as an example—and you’ll see the authors related to that search.
Like the deck search, you can refine this search by grade level in the left sidebar. Once you’ve found an author you want to follow, click on their name to visit their Store page and follow them.
All authors you follow will be listed in the “Social” tab of your Account Settings, making it easy to keep up with their new releases. Not all Boom Publishers list their region in their bio, so anytime you see great state-specific content, don’t forget to follow the author then and there.
Filtering Searches by Followed Authors
One of the convenient features in the Boom Store is the ability to filter your searches by authors you already follow. To do so, search for decks in the store and toggle the switch for “Only Followed Authors” to filter the results.
